Cordelia Cruises expands fleet with launch of Cordelia Sky

Mumbai-based Cordelia Cruises has launched its largest vessel, Cordelia Sky, marking the company’s transition to a two-ship fleet. The vessel, measuring approximately 260 metres with a gross tonnage of 77,104, features 12 decks and 1,002 cabins.

In addition to the new launch, Cordelia Cruises is expanding its regional footprint. The vessel MV Empress recently made its maiden call at Cochin Port, following the city's designation as a home port for the cruise line. This move aims to strengthen maritime connectivity between India, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka.

Cordelia Cruises President and CEO Jurgen Bailom stated the company aims to position India among the world’s five largest cruise markets by 2032. The expansion is expected to generate 20,000 additional jobs over the next three years. Future plans include the addition of a second vessel in 2027 and an international 34-day voyage from Mumbai to Sydney scheduled for the 2028 monsoon season.
