Cordelia Cruises refits Cordelia Sky in Turkey for India debut
Cordelia Cruises is currently refitting the Cordelia Sky, a 77,000-ton vessel formerly known as the Norwegian Sky, at the Beşiktaş Shipyard in Yalova, Turkey. The company relocated the refit from Dubai to Turkey due to regional tensions, opting for the Turkish facility based on its previous experience with cruise ship projects.
The 1999-built ship, which accommodates approximately 2,000 guests, is undergoing routine maintenance, technical cleaning, and interior modifications tailored for Indian passengers. Technical updates include a livery change using over 30,000 liters of paint and extensive electrical work involving 1,300 kilometers of cabling.
The Cordelia Sky is scheduled to make its debut in India on October 23, 2026, operating out of Mumbai. Its inaugural season will feature short cruises to destinations such as Goa and Lakshadweep. Starting in August 2027, the vessel is also planned to offer longer cruises to Southeast Asia from Chennai and Singapore.
