Corfo launches program to boost Ñuble meat industry
Corfo and the Regional Governor of Ñuble have launched the Integrated Territorial Program (PTI) for Meat Embutidos in Chillán. The initiative aims to strengthen the regional cured meat industry, which produces over 6 million kilograms of longaniza annually.
The program seeks to unite companies and institutions to enhance the value chain, integrate new technology and innovation, improve quality standards, and open new market opportunities. The regional meat value chain includes 364 companies and 1,548 employees, with annual sales reaching approximately US$200 million.
Regional Governor Óscar Crisóstomo stated that the program aims to position Ñuble and Chillán as national and Latin American leaders in the sector, supporting approximately 80 local cured meat producers.
