Multiple fatal incidents reported in Crete, New York, and Corinth

Several tragic incidents have been reported across different regions. In Crete, Greece, George Polyzoakis, a 65-year-old former deputy mayor and municipal councilor of Archanes-Asterousia, was found dead in a field in Agies Paraskies. He sustained a wound from a shotgun, and authorities are investigating the possibility of suicide.

In New York City, the NYPD fatally shot a man on the Brooklyn Bridge. The individual, who appeared to be experiencing a psychological crisis, had climbed onto the bridge cables while armed with a knife. Despite a one-hour negotiation attempt, the man reportedly lunged at an officer, prompting the fatal shot. He had also made claims regarding a bomb.

Additionally, in Corinth, Greece, a man was fatally struck by a Hellenic Train suburban railway service near Ancient Corinth. The driver attempted to use automatic braking and warning signals, but the company stated it was impossible to stop the train in time to avoid the collision. The incident caused delays on the Piraeus–Kiato line.
