São Paulo defeats Corinthians 2-1 in Women's Brazilian League final first leg

São Paulo secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Corinthians in the first leg of the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino A1 final. The match, held at the Neo Química Arena before over 21,000 spectators, marked the first time the Corinthians women's team has lost at their home stadium since 2016, ending a 32-match unbeaten streak.

Corinthians initially took the lead in the 9th minute through a header by Gabi Zanotti following an assist from Vic Albuquerque. São Paulo responded in the 20th minute when Giovanna Crivelari equalized after a pass from Duda Serrana. The winning goal was scored by Isa Guimarães in the 67th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error.

With this result, São Paulo holds a significant advantage heading into the second leg at the Morumbis stadium on October 3. A draw will be sufficient for São Paulo to claim their first national title and end Corinthians' run of six consecutive championships. Corinthians must win by two or more goals to secure the trophy outright, or by one goal to force a penalty shootout.
