Corinthians identifies fans who harassed child after Neymar jersey gift

Authorities and Corinthians have identified six fans involved in the harassment of an 8-year-old boy at the Neo Química Arena. The child, a Corinthians supporter from Santa Catarina, was targeted by fellow fans after receiving a jersey from Neymar following a match against Santos.

The Civil Police, through the Specialized Police Station for the Repression and Analysis of Sports Intolerance Crimes (Drade), identified the individuals using stadium security footage and journalist recordings. The suspects may face charges for inciting a riot under the General Sports Law, which could result in a ban from attending matches for up to three years.

Corinthians has implemented a preventive ban, prohibiting the identified individuals from entering the stadium starting this Sunday. Additionally, the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) fined the club R$ 10,000 for failing to take adequate measures to prevent and repress disorder during the event.
