Corinthians settles women's football image rights amid financial instability
Corinthians has settled outstanding image rights payments for its women's football squad for the month of September. While this payment addresses recent debts, the club's management is still working to secure funds to pay contractual bonuses and performance prizes.
The financial and political instability follows the team's recent runner-up finish in the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino after a 1-1 draw against São Paulo. Head coach Emily Lima has publicly criticized the institutional uncertainty, stating that the lack of information and financial instability creates insecurity for players and staff.
In addition to financial hurdles, the club is currently facing three active transfer bans from FIFA, which prevents the registration of new players and limits squad reinforcement options. The team is now shifting focus toward the Conmebol Libertadores Feminina, with a scheduled match against Colo-Colo in Quito.
