Corinthians settles women's football salaries amid prize money debt
The Corinthians board has paid overdue salaries and image rights to its women's football squad, addressing debts that had been outstanding since early October. The move was intended to reduce internal tension within the professional group.
Despite the salary settlement, the club still owes various sports bonuses and prize money. This includes eight outstanding installments related to the 2025 Copa Libertadores Femenina title, as well as promised payments for runner-up finishes in the Supercopa do Brasil and the Club World Cup. The club is currently negotiating to installment these remaining debts.
To prevent a potential strike before the Brazilian Championship semifinals, the club administration had to advance revenues from its master sponsor. While the payment of monthly wages has stabilized the environment for the upcoming South American season, financial issues caused significant friction during the national season's decisive stages.
