Coros adds offline mapping support to Pace 4 via software update

Coros has released a major September software update for the Pace 4, introducing full topographic mapping support. This upgrade allows users to download offline maps, including street and trail names and points of interest, providing turn-by-turn directions.

This update positions the Pace 4 as one of the most affordable fitness watches to offer on-device mapping. For comparison, the Pace 4 is priced at $249, whereas the cheapest current Garmin model with similar mapping capabilities is the Forerunner 970 at $749.99.

A primary constraint for this feature is the device's limited 4GB of onboard storage. Because system data occupies a significant portion of this space, users may have limited room if they also store music on the watch. Coros noted that while the storage is insufficient for large-scale continental maps, it is sufficient for downloading local areas and specific travel destinations via the companion app.
