Corporate Sustainability Reporting in Chile and Spain
Ipsos released the fourth edition of Chile's Corporate Sustainability Monitor 2026, a study conducted with the Santiago Chamber of Commerce and the University of Development. The survey highlighted Colún, Doctor Simi and Sodimac as the best‑rated brands and stressed the need for clear, verifiable sustainability communication to avoid generic “green” messaging.
In Spain, the CEOE report on sustainability reporting shows that about 80 % of firms disclose ESG information, with more than a quarter doing so before the 2018 non‑financial reporting law. The study of roughly 150 companies found that reporting has shifted from pure compliance to a strategic tool that supports risk management, governance and long‑term competitiveness. Larger firms integrate sustainability at board level and invest in staff training, while many smaller firms report for transparency and commitment.
Both reports indicate that corporate sustainability communication is becoming more systematic and tied to business strategy in the region.
