Correios strike: TST orders 80% workforce maintenance
The Superior Labor Court (TST) has issued a preliminary ruling requiring Correios workers to maintain at least 80% of the workforce during the ongoing national strike. This mandate applies to all essential units, including customer service, processing, transport, distribution, and indispensable administrative support. The strike, which began on Thursday, was approved by multiple unions and federations, including Findect, following the rejection of a collective bargaining proposal. A primary point of contention is the future of the health insurance plan for employees, retirees, and their families. In response, Correios has activated a Business Continuity Plan, which includes mobilizing administrative staff for operational support, redistributing vehicles, and organizing task forces to mitigate logistical impacts. A formal judgment on the collective dispute is scheduled for September 21 at 1:30 PM.
