Nancy Estela Godoy disappearance: two more arrests in Corrientes
The investigation into the disappearance of 52-year-old rural teacher Nancy Estela Godoy in Esquina, Corrientes, has led to the arrest of two additional individuals. Rosa Leguizamón, a neighbor of the rural school where Godoy served as acting director, and her partner, Nahuel Rojas, were detained on suspicion of aggravated concealment.
The arrests followed contradictions detected in their statements to the prosecution. Leguizamón was reportedly the last person to see the teacher before she vanished on October 7. The investigation has already seen the detention of Ezequiel Bordón, a rural laborer, who faces charges of false testimony. His defense attorney has alleged that Bordón was subjected to physical abuse by police to coerce a confession.
Search operations continue in the El Malezal area, involving police, helicopters, and Gendarmería Nacional. While the current charges focus on concealment, prosecutors have a 72-hour window to evaluate evidence to determine if the charges should be upgraded to femicide. The victim's family has expressed frustration with the progress of the investigation and the official search efforts.
