Corrientes expands CPR and first aid training initiatives

In Corrientes, Argentina, initiatives are expanding to increase public and institutional knowledge of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and first aid.

The Health Commission of the Honorable Concejo Deliberante is analyzing a project to implement mandatory CPR and first aid training for all legislative staff. Proposed by Councilman Ricardo Liceaga Viñas, the ordinance would require permanent, political, and contracted personnel to undergo three consecutive in-person training sessions. The program would be completed within six months of hiring and renewed every two years. Training would be provided by the Municipal Institute of Sports and Recreation (Emder) or the Municipal Health Secretariat.

Additionally, the FleboGen Advanced Medical Institute, in collaboration with the Foundation for the Prevention of Sudden Death (FuPreMus), is hosting a free CPR workshop in Corrientes. Held during the Week of Sudden Death Prevention and Awareness, the workshop aims to provide community members with essential tools to respond to cardiac emergencies. Participants receive certification upon completion of the training.
