Book fairs light up Argentina and Guatemala in July

Argentina hosts several literary festivals in July. The 34th Buenos Aires Children’s Book Fair opened on 11 July at the Centro de Convenciones, offering free entry, more than 70 exhibitors, workshops, performances and the Premios Pregonero awards through 2 August. The 16th Provincial Book Fair in Corrientes ran from 7–18 July, featuring author talks, poetry readings and a tribute to Jorge Luis Borges on 11 July. In Goya, the 8th Book Fair concluded on 12 July with mayor Mariano Hormaechea, a new sonnet collection by Julio Cáceres and a trailer launch for the “Libro de Goya” documentary.

Guatemala’s International Book Fair (Filgua) continued its program into mid‑July, presenting dozens of authors, children’s activities, concerts, and a range of panels on topics from indigenous history to publishing challenges. The schedule for 11 July and 13 July included book launches, literary discussions, and cultural performances across the Fórum Majadas venue.
