Corumbá to restore historic Hotel Internacional for R$ 3.8 million
The historic Hotel Internacional in Corumbá, Brazil, is set to undergo a restoration project valued at approximately R$ 3.83 million. Marsou Engenharia Ltda. has been selected to manage both the executive project and the physical recovery of the building under a semi-integrated contract model.
Built in the early 20th century, the building is a significant landmark associated with the economic expansion driven by navigation on the Paraguay River. The restoration aims to preserve its architectural elements and historical mural paintings while adapting the space for public use. Once completed, the municipal administration intends to house public offices and services within the building to improve citizen service in the central region.
The project is part of the Novo PAC (Growth Acceleration Program) for historic cities, conducted in partnership with the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (Iphan). The building has remained closed for over two decades.
