Corvette crashes and burns following 154 mph police chase in New York

A high-speed police pursuit in Clifton Park, New York, ended with a Chevrolet Corvette engulfed in flames and the driver missing. According to New York State Police, the incident began around 10:20 pm on Monday night when troopers attempted to stop the vehicle on Route 9 in Saratoga County. The driver allegedly refused to pull over, reaching speeds of up to 154 mph.

To manage the high-speed chase, troopers deployed tire-deflation devices. While the devices were successfully used, the vehicle continued for approximately thirty minutes before being located near Southbury Road and Montgomery Way. Upon discovery, the Corvette was on fire, and the driver was nowhere to be found.

Authorities have not yet identified the driver, and no arrests have been made. The New York State Police are currently working with the Saratoga County Office of Emergency Management Fire Investigation Unit to determine the cause of the blaze and whether the vehicle was stolen or intentionally set on fire.
