Cosenza public transport to continue under Cometra management

The local public transport service in Cosenza will continue without interruption following the cessation of activities by Amaco. Starting October 1, the Cometra consortium will take over the management of the service.

Following a meeting between Mayor Franz Caruso and Cometra President Aristide Vercillo, officials confirmed that the transition aims to safeguard jobs and ensure service stability. The new management plans to introduce new buses shortly to improve the network and will utilize smaller vehicles to better serve narrow streets and remote peripheral areas of the city.

To facilitate this transition, the municipality has agreed to transfer the management of city center parking areas to Cometra. Regional councilors have expressed satisfaction with the outcome, noting that the agreement prevents a total halt in urban mobility while protecting the livelihoods of workers previously employed by Amaco.
