Cosmetics factory fire in Palo Verde, Caracas

A large-scale fire broke out on the morning of August 31 at a cosmetics factory located in the Palo Verde industrial zone of Caracas, Venezuela. The blaze affected the Pantina Cosmetic facility, situated within the John Fran building near the Palo Verde Metrocable station.

Approximately 120 emergency responders, including the Caracas Fire Department, Civil Protection, police, the Guardia del Pueblo, and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), were deployed to control and extinguish the flames. Due to the nature of the cosmetics products being processed and stored, the fire produced potentially toxic gases, requiring firefighters to use specialized respiratory protection equipment.

Authorities successfully evacuated personnel from the building to ensure safety. As of the latest reports, there have been no confirmed injuries or fatalities. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
