Industrial fires in Caracas, Venezuela

Overview

In August 2026, two significant industrial fires occurred in the Caracas metropolitan area of Venezuela.

On August 7, a large blaze destroyed three warehouses in the El Llanito industrial sector of Petare. Emergency services, including the Caracas and Miranda Fire Departments, prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent areas. No fatalities or injuries were reported, and investigations into the cause, which may have originated within a food company, were initiated.

On August 31, a large-scale fire broke out at the Pantina Cosmetic facility in the Palo Verde industrial zone. Approximately 120 responders, including the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, were deployed to manage the incident. Because the cosmetics products produced potentially toxic gases, firefighters utilized specialized respiratory protection. No injuries or fatalities were confirmed, and the cause remains under investigation.
