Cosmetics sales rise in Greek supermarkets

Cosmetics and health and beauty product sales in Greek supermarkets have seen significant growth. According to data from Circana, the total health and beauty category recorded a 3.5% increase in sales volume during the first seven months of 2026 compared to the previous year.

The personal health and beauty subcategory specifically grew by 4.3%, trailing only frozen foods and dairy in terms of consumption growth. Online supermarket sales for these products saw an even sharper increase, with a 10% rise in value during the same seven-month period, driven largely by demand for sun protection products in June.

NielsenIQ data indicates that the total health and beauty market in Greek supermarkets reached 710 million euros over an eight-month period in 2026, up from 677 million euros in the corresponding period of the previous year. Analysts suggest this trend reflects consumers seeking more affordable self-care solutions during periods of economic pressure.
