Kosta Pandurević wounded in Sarajevo shooting amid spate of violent incidents

On 2 August 2026 a shooting occurred on Spasovdanska street in East New Sarajevo (Lukavica). Kosta Pandurević was hit by at least two bullets while travelling in an Audi A6 with his two‑year‑old child; he was taken to the “Srbija” hospital. Police say the shots were fired from a moving, possibly armored, vehicle and have issued a manhunt for Đorđe Ždrale, who is suspected of the attack.

A second shooting in the same area later that night injured Davor Dabić, a known member of the criminal group Darka Elez. The assailant remains unidentified and police continue the investigation.

Earlier in the day, police in the Stari Grad municipality of Sarajevo arrested 47‑year‑old M. K. on suspicion of stabbing 28‑year‑old Haris Babić, his son‑in‑law, to death in the Ablagijin sokak. The murder followed a family dispute and is being investigated as a homicide.

Separately, police near Bugojno intercepted a group of about thirty armed men from Republika Srpska travelling in police‑marked vans and other vehicles. No weapons were discharged, and the group fled before being detained.

These incidents reflect a sudden rise in violent crime in the Sarajevo region, prompting intensified police operations and public concern.
