In early August 2026, a shooting on Spasovska (Spasovdan) Street in East New Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, left Kosta Pandurević wounded; he was hit by at least two bullets while travelling with his two‑year‑old child in an Audi A6 and was taken to the “Srbija” hospital. Police say the shots were fired from a moving, possibly armored, foreign‑registered Audi A8 and have issued a manhunt for Đorđe Ždrale, a convicted murderer who fled the scene. Irnes Hubijar was detained on terrorism‑related threats linked to the incident.

Later that night another shooting in the same area injured Davor Dabić, a member of the criminal group Darka Elez; the assailant has not been identified. Earlier on the same day, police in Sarajevo’s Stari Grad municipality arrested a 47‑year‑old suspect, M. K., for the stabbing death of Haris Babić, a family‑related homicide. Near Bugojno, officers intercepted a convoy of about thirty armed men from Republika Srpska travelling in police‑marked vehicles; the group fled before detention.

These linked events illustrate a rapid escalation of violent crime in the Sarajevo region, prompting intensified police operations and heightened public concern.
