Costa Rica invests ₡90 million in Caribbean agricultural recovery

The Costa Rican Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) has invested over ₡90 million to support producers in the Huetar Caribe region and assist in recovery efforts following heavy rainfall.

Of this total, ₡31.8 million was allocated to strengthen agricultural activities, with 95% already executed. These funds supported projects in the Agricultural Cantonal Centers of Matina, Siquirres, and Guácimo, including the installation of dryers and the delivery of supplies to 290 producers. These initiatives aim to improve infrastructure and food security in rural communities.

An additional ₡59 million was directed toward the Pococí canton to aid recovery from intense rainfall recorded in late 2024. In coordination with the National Commission for Risk Prevention and Emergency Attention (CNE), MAG provided materials and supplies to help restore productive units damaged by the weather.
