Costa Rica has received 25 people deported by the United States as the first wave of the agreement between the two countries.
Under a new third-country agreement signed in March, the policy allows Washington to send some non-Costa Rican deportees to Costa Rica instead of returning them directly to their homelands. The first group consisted of 25 people.
