Costa Rica woman dies after being struck by motorcycle

A 61-year-old woman, identified by the Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) as Ms. García, has died in a hospital in Puntarenas, Costa Rica, following a traffic accident.

The incident occurred on Saturday in the Higuito locality of San Mateo, Alajuela, when the woman was reportedly struck by a motorcycle while attempting to cross the road. Although she initially survived the impact, she was transported to the Monseñor Sanabria Hospital in critical condition and passed away the following Sunday.

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the accident, and it remains unclear whether the motorcyclist remained at the scene or fled.
