Court invalidates will of late actor Đức Tiến
The High People's Court in Ho Chi Minh City has overturned a previous ruling regarding the inheritance dispute of the late actor Đức Tiến. The court ruled that a will allegedly prepared in the United States is legally invalid.
Forensic examination concluded that the signature in the ‘Testator Signature’ section did not match sample documents, determining that the signatures on the will and related papers were not made by the same person. Consequently, the estate will be divided according to law rather than the contested will.
Under the appellate ruling, Đức Tiến’s daughter is to receive over 1.412 billion VND. His widow, Nguyễn Bình Phương, will hold rights to land in Linh Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, and Long An, and is entitled to over 3.58 billion VND, though she must reimburse Nguyễn Ngọc Ánh (the actor's mother) approximately 3.014 billion VND. As the daughter is a minor, the widow will manage her portion of the inheritance as legal guardian.
