CPI(M) challenges Congress allegations of BJP tie‑up during Kerala election

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) sent a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge objecting to the Congress campaign in the Kerala Assembly elections that alleged a secret deal between the CPI(M) and the BJP. General Secretary MA Baby cited repeated claims that CPI(M) leader and former Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan had struck an understanding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking why the Enforcement Directorate had not acted.

Baby described the accusations as a “systematic campaign” that threatens the unity of the INDIA bloc, noting the party’s ten‑year LDF rule saw no communal riots and that many of its cadres were martyred fighting the RSS‑BJP. He urged clarification before the INDIA bloc meeting scheduled for 8 June 2026, while reaffirming CPI(M)’s commitment to cooperate with opposition parties against what it termed the Modi government’s “authoritarian, communal, and anti‑people policies.”
