CPI(M) Seeks Congress Clarification on Kerala Collusion Claims before INDIA Bloc Meeting

CPI(M) General Secretary M A Baby wrote to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge asking for clarification of remarks by senior Congress leaders that alleged a deal between the CPI(M) and the BJP during the Kerala Assembly election. The letter, sent ahead of the INDIA bloc meeting scheduled for 8 June 2026 in New Delhi, warned that such accusations could undermine the opposition alliance’s unity.

CPI(M) will be represented at the meeting by Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas, and the gathering is expected to include leaders such as Mamata Banerjee, Uddhav Thackeray, Akhilesh Yadav, Rahul Gandhi and others. The party highlighted its historic opposition to communal violence in Kerala and the sacrifices of its cadres, urging Congress to clear the record so the INDIA bloc can maintain a coherent strategy against the BJP‑led government.
