CPTM commuter rail in São Paulo reports logo removal on Line 10 trains and vandalism slowdown on Line 12

In São Paulo, the commuter rail operator CPTM has seen a series of operational anomalies. On the Line 10‑Turquesa, several Series 8500 trains are running without the CPTM logo after the branding was covered with simple adhesive sheets; CPTM said 12 of the 35 units will be transferred to the contractor Trivia Trens under the concession contract, while the line will continue with the remaining 23 Series 8500 trains and five Series 2070 units.

Separately, early on 15 July, a vandalism incident damaged a signal box between the Tatuapé and Engenheiro Goulart stations on Line 12‑Safira. The sabotage forced trains to operate at reduced speed with longer stops between USP Leste and Tatuapé, causing significant delays for thousands of passengers. CPTM issued a statement lamenting the disruption and outlined increased security measures, including real‑time monitoring, body‑worn cameras for agents, and a police partnership to curb such crimes.
