On New Year's Eve 2026 a fire broke out in the Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. A spray from a champagne bottle ignited a flash‑over, quickly engulfing the venue. The disaster left 41 people dead and 115 injured.
Sixteen‑year‑old Valentin and his brother Ferdinand survived the blaze. Valentin suffered severe injuries while his brother helped other youths escape and later searched for him.
