Crans-Montana fire: owners summoned for hearing as families view surveillance footage
A catastrophic fire at the bar "Le Constellation" in Crans‑Montana, Switzerland, on the night of 31 December killed 41 people and injured 115. The co‑owners, Fabrice and Jessica Moretti, have been ordered to appear before prosecutors on 5 June in a “confrontation” hearing, the first such adversarial session in the investigation. The hearing will follow three possible formats for questioning the defendants, with lawyers for all parties present.
Victims' families are also confronting the tragedy. Vinciane Stucky, whose 17‑year‑old son Trystan died in the blaze, obtained police‑approved access to the bar’s 14‑camera surveillance footage. The video, silent but showing the fire spreading within two minutes, allowed her to see her son moments before the smoke overwhelmed the venue. The same viewing process is available to other families, though some decline due to emotional difficulty.
