Córdoba consumer regulator demands Flybondi resolve surge in flight cancellation complaints

The Dirección General de Defensa del Consumidor y Lealtad Comercial of the Córdoba province issued a resolution of oficio ordering low‑cost carrier Flybondi to explain the reasons for flight cancellations, answer all pending administrative complaints and immediately refund passengers whose tickets were cancelled. The action follows a 60 % rise in complaints reported in July compared with the same month last year, with roughly 60 individual claims currently being processed.

Flybondi has not attended the conciliation hearings summoned by the agency nor provided responses, prompting the regulator to refer the case to its legal area for possible sanctions under national consumer law (Law 24.240) and to request information from the national aviation authority (ANAC) about the airline’s operational status. "Faced with the large number of complaints and passenger uncertainty, we launched this off‑the‑record action to obtain concrete answers and protect the rights of Córdoba consumers," said agency director Ariel Juri.
