Córdoba municipal official faces scrutiny over asset management
Allegations have surfaced regarding the management of municipal assets in Córdoba during the tenure of former syndic Vania López González. Messages attributed to former allies of López González suggest that Irving Efraín Domínguez Rico, then the area coordinator, authorized the use of municipal tools, land, and facilities for activities related to the Green Party and private events.
Specific items reportedly involved include chainsaws, lawnmowers, and municipal spaces such as the Agua Fría parking lot. Domínguez Rico, who previously earned 28,768.98 pesos monthly, remains on the municipal payroll under the administration of Manuel Alonso Cerezo, currently serving as an analyst for the Patrimonial Office with a salary of 16,729.90 pesos.
The situation has prompted calls for the City Council to increase transparency, review past authorizations, and explain why an official facing these allegations remains within the municipal structure.
