Córdoba province tops Argentine fiscal transparency index

The province of Córdoba received a perfect score of 100 points in the Índice de Cumplimiento de la Ley de Responsabilidad Fiscal compiled by the Asociación Argentina de Presupuesto y Administración Financiera Pública (ASAP). The assessment placed Córdoba in Group I together with Entre Ríos and Santa Fe, indicating strict compliance with national transparency requirements. The provincial administration under Governor Martín Llaryora disclosed the full 2026 budget, expense execution, public‑debt stock and public‑sector staffing data as of 31 December 2025.

ASAP’s report noted a decline in the national average index, falling from 74.3 points in September 2025 to 70.9 points in the latest survey – a drop of 6.8 points compared with March 2025. The study highlighted significant movements among other jurisdictions: Tucumán rose by 55 points, Santa Cruz by 45 points, while Tierra del Fuego fell by 60 points, and Jujuy and Río Negro each dropped 55 points. The monitoring categorises provinces into five compliance groups (strict, high, intermediate, low, null); no province fell into the null group. La Pampa and San Luis were excluded for not adhering to the federal fiscal‑responsibility regime.

ASAP concluded that Córdoba, Entre Ríos and Santa Fe “repeat the maximum score, which demonstrates strict compliance with the surveyed requirements.”
