Córdoba’s Measured Parking System Tested During Belgrano Match

The Municipal Measured Parking system was piloted for the first time in a mass‑attendance setting during the Belgrano vs. Rosario Central football match at the Julio César Villagra stadium in Córdoba, Argentina. The tariff zone covered 40 city blocks around the venue. Between 17:30 and 23:30, more than 1,000 parking payments were recorded, 86 % via the Semm mobile app and 14 % through QR codes posted on street corners.

Police from the municipal traffic department, provincial police, and urban guard, supported by municipal drones, monitored the area. Eight illegal parking collectors were identified, four of whom were detained. Eight vehicles were towed and citations issued for improper parking. Secretary of Government Rodrigo Fernández said, "Los ciudadanos ya empezaron a adoptar el sistema a través de la aplicación del SEMM y del código QR. … Es un cambio cultural, un cambio de uso al que de a poco nos vamos acostumbrando."

Outside the designated zone, thousands of spectators parked freely. Officials highlighted the system’s potential to self‑manage public space and reduce illegal parking.
