Credit Card Points Programs and Cashback App Introduce New Savings Options in Brazil and Portugal

In Brazil, experts say that concentrating everyday purchases on a credit card rather than debit can generate points, miles or cashback. Helcio Tegeda, head of Inter Loop’s points program, explains that even small transactions add up, especially when using premium cards such as Black, Infinite or Platinum, which offer higher accrual rates. Advisers recommend paying the full bill each month, avoiding interest, and taking advantage of promotional campaigns, marketplace partnerships and “turbo‑point” offers to maximize returns.

In Portugal, Procter & Gamble’s new “Poupar é Ganhar” app, integrated with the “Para Mim” platform, lets shoppers earn cashback on regular purchases of well‑known brands. Users register, upload receipts and receive a refund once a €5 threshold is reached, with total savings potentially reaching €100. The app features campaigns from brands like Fairy, Gillette and Oral‑B, and offers personalized offers and contests. According to the developers, the service provides “more than just a discount app – it’s a continuous, personalized savings approach.”
