Crete IBT basketball tournament begins in Heraklion

The 6th Crete International Basketball Tournament (Crete IBT) has commenced in Heraklion, Crete, featuring four prominent EuroLeague clubs: Olympiacos, Fenerbahçe, Armani Milano, and Crvena Zvezda. The event serves as a high-level preseason preview for the upcoming EuroLeague season.

Olympiacos arrived in Crete to a warm reception from fans. Star player Sasha Vezenkov emphasized the need for the team to focus on new challenges rather than past successes, noting that the squad requires more time to build cohesion. The tournament is being held at the ‘Dyo Oraki’ Indoor Gymnasium.

In addition to the competitive basketball, the event includes a 3on3 tournament where proceeds will benefit the SOS Children's Villages of Crete.
