Crete launches olive oil quality training for producers

The Region of Crete and the Hellenic Mediterranean University (ELMEPA) are organizing a series of educational training sessions focused on the quality of ‘Kriti/Kriti’ PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The initiative is being conducted in collaboration with the municipalities of Heraklion, Viannos, Rethymno, Faistos, and Hersonissos.

The training program is scheduled to take place between late September and early October 2026. Sessions are designed for olive growers, oil producers, and standardization specialists. Topics include maintaining quality standards during the milling and standardization processes. Specific locations for the training include the Heraklion Union, the Spiritual Center of Emparos, the Organoleptic Laboratory of Crete in Rethymno, and the Zaros Spiritual Center in Faistos.
