Crete municipal councils to hold sessions on local administration

Local government bodies in Crete are scheduled to hold sessions on Monday, August 24, 2026, to address various regional administrative and infrastructure matters.

The Kalo Chorio Municipal Community will meet to discuss road safety regulations in the Istros area, the 2027 technical works program, and requests for financial assistance from the Lasithi Regional Unit for coastal cleaning. Other agenda items include addressing illegal waste dumping in streams and managing local property matters.

Simultaneously, the Chania Municipal Council will convene to discuss budget amendments for 2026, the funding of cultural associations, and the implementation of a waste oil collection program. The council will also deliberate on the concession of several municipal sports facilities and football fields to various local athletic clubs and associations.
