Crete Region Announces €4 Million for Holistic Liquid Waste Management
The Regional Governor of Crete, Stavros Arnaoutakis, signed an invitation for project proposals under the “Crete 2021‑2027” programme, specifically for the Action on holistic liquid waste management. The co‑financed public budget provides €4 million, with a minimum project size of €200,000. Funding forms part of the Region’s interventions financed by the European Structural and Investment Funds. Eligible applicants include municipalities, the Region itself, municipal water‑and‑sewage companies (DEWA) and other authorised bodies. Projects must comply with the Crete Water Basin Management Plan and adopt a holistic, cost‑effective design addressing drinking water, sewage, storm water, sludge, water reuse and digitalisation measures. Proposals are to be submitted electronically through the Integrated Information System (OPS) between 3 August 2026 (08:00) and 30 October 2026 (15:00).
