Crete Region to provide school supplies for 500 children in Rethymno

The Region of Crete is launching an initiative to support 500 kindergarten children from large and three-child families in the Rethymno regional unit. Through the Social Solidarity Department of the Directorate of Public Health and Social Care, the region will distribute school supplies and stationery for the upcoming academic year.

This action, conducted in collaboration with the Directorate of Primary Education of Rethymno, aims to alleviate the financial burden on families facing increased expenses at the start of the school year. The provided materials are intended to support daily educational and creative activities, such as drawing, crafts, and writing, to ensure equal participation in school life.

Maria Lioni, the Vice Regional Governor of Rethymno, stated that this initiative is part of the region's ongoing social interventions to support families and strengthen social solidarity.
