Crime incidents reported in Medellín and El Banco, Colombia

In Medellín, an attempted robbery targeting a person who had recently withdrawn a large sum of money resulted in a violent confrontation. Agents from the Fiscalía General de la Nación's CTI, who were in the area, intervened during the crime at the intersection of La Playa Avenue and Girardot. In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, two suspected criminals were killed. The victim sustained a wound from a traumatic weapon and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

In a separate incident in the municipality of El Banco, Magdalena, a man suspected of attempted theft became trapped in the metal security bars of a second-story window at a local residence. Unable to move forward or backward, the individual shouted for help, alerting neighbors who notified the police. Authorities rescued the man from the structure and transferred him to a station for legal processing. Reports suggest the individual may have been released later due to a lack of a formal complaint, though official confirmation from Magdalena police is pending.
