Cristi Chivu says Inter won’t rest on Manchester City friendly win and eyes more signings

Inter Milan coach Cristi Chivu praised his side’s performance after a 1‑1 (3‑1 on penalties) friendly against Manchester City, but stressed that the result matters little at this stage. He highlighted the need to fine‑tune the team, noted a shortage at right‑back, and lauded Aleksandar Stanković’s development. Chivu also welcomed the summer arrival of centre‑back John Stones, saying the defender raises the squad’s quality and character.

Former Inter striker Christian Vieri (Bobo Vieri) called Chivu a “very well‑prepared coach” and reiterated Inter’s status as Serie A favourites, while acknowledging Napoli’s challenge under Massimiliano Allegri. Vieri echoed Chivu’s call for further defensive reinforcements before the new season begins, which will kick off on 22 August against Monza after pre‑season matches in Australia against AC Milan and Juventus.
