Cristian “Pity” Álvarez faces third hearing in homicide trial

Musician Cristian “Pity” Álvarez appeared for the third hearing in his trial for the 2018 homicide of Cristian Maximiliano Díaz in Villa Lugano. Following the session, Álvarez stated he felt “tranquilo” (calm) and remarked that the person delivering the verdict is “the one we know sees everything.”

A key witness, Carlos Ulises Stiempcich, provided testimony regarding the altercation that occurred on July 12, 2018. Stiempcich, a friend of the victim, requested to testify in a separate room without the presence of the media or Álvarez.

According to the witness, a verbal dispute between Díaz and Álvarez escalated into a physical confrontation. Stiempcich testified that as the two men stood face-to-face, Díaz made a gesture as if to headbutt Álvarez. In response, the witness claimed Álvarez drew a firearm and fired. The testimony indicated that the first shot struck Díaz near the eye, followed by three additional shots after the victim fell to the ground.
