Cristina Kirchner art seizure valued at US$300,000

During the oral trial for the ‘Cuadernos de las Coimas’ corruption case, new details emerged regarding the value of 56 artworks seized during 2018 raids on properties linked to former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and her daughter, Florencia Kirchner.

Appraisals conducted by Banco Ciudad specialists in 2018 valued the collection at approximately 7.7 million pesos, which was equivalent to roughly 300,000 US dollars at the time. The seized items were located in two Buenos Aires residences: an apartment on Juncal Street and a property on Moreno Street.

Significant portions of the collection's value were attributed to specific pieces. In the Juncal apartment, the painting ‘Formas II’ by Roberto Aizemberg was valued at 2.4 million pesos. In the Moreno residence, two original works by Pedro Figari, ‘Sale la procesión’ and ‘Escena de negros’, accounted for approximately 76% of that property's total appraised value.
