Lawyers for former Argentine President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner have introduced new documentary evidence to the United Nations Human Rights Committee to challenge her conviction in the Vialidad case. The defense argues that the sentence, which includes six years in prison and a lifetime ban from public office, is unjust.

The new evidence, based on an economic study by Specs Consultoría, claims that companies linked to businessman Lázaro Báez received only 0.85% of the funds from the 'Fuente 14' budget source between 2009 and 2015. The defense asserts this contradicts the prosecution's claim that Decree 54/2009 was designed specifically to benefit Báez, arguing instead that it was a general regulation for road works.

In separate legal developments, the Federal Chamber of Criminal Cassation rejected Kirchner's appeal against preventive asset liens. These liens cover properties including the San José 1111 apartment where she is serving house arrest, as well as other assets intended to cover approximately 685,000 million pesos. Additionally, the judiciary ordered ANSES to provisionally restore Kirchner's widow's pension, which resulted in a payment of over 16 million pesos in September.
