Cristina Kirchner summoned to hearing in Hotesur-Los Sauces case

The Federal Oral Court 5 has summoned former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, her son Máximo Kirchner, businessman Lázaro Báez, and former accountant Víctor Manzanares to a preliminary hearing on September 4. The hearing, scheduled to take place at the AMIA Auditorium, aims to organize the upcoming trial in the Hotesur-Los Sauces case.

The investigation examines allegations of money laundering, illicit association, and bribery. Prosecutors suggest that funds obtained through public works corruption were redirected to the Kirchner family via simulated hotel and real estate contracts.

The start date for the oral debate remains dependent on the completion of a forensic accounting report. This report is intended to determine if there was a simulation of rentals between companies owned by Báez and López and firms managed by the Kirchner family. While the defendants are not obligated to attend, they have the right to do so. The trial could potentially begin before the end of the year if proceedings accelerate.
