Cristina Kirchner's house arrest extended in Buenos Aires

The Federal Oral Court No. 2 has extended the house arrest of former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. She will continue serving her six-year sentence related to the Vialidad case at her residence located at San José 1111 in Buenos Aires.

Judge Rodrigo Giménez Uriburu ruled that Kirchner has adequately fulfilled her duty of residence and adhered to visitation protocols. This decision follows technical reports from the Directorate of Assistance for Persons Under Electronic Surveillance (DAPVE) and the Directorate of Control and Assistance of Penal Execution (DCAEP). During the analyzed period, Kirchner had only one authorized exit for a medical consultation, which was completed without incident. Electronic monitoring showed no irregularities, and random home interviews indicated she maintained a cordial and respectful attitude toward officials.

Additionally, the court noted that demonstrations held near her residence did not disturb neighborhood tranquility or result in formal complaints. This extension coincides with the court's confirmation of preventive embargoes on various assets, including the San José 1111 property, to cover an estimated $685 billion in state losses.
