Cristina Trăilă, the Deputy Secretary General of the Romanian Government, has resigned following a criminal investigation launched by the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) Iași. Trăilă is a suspect in a case involving businessman Fănel Bogos.

Prosecutors allege that in November 2025, Trăilă supported efforts by Mihai Barbu, a former PNL treasurer, to exert influence over the president of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA). The objective was reportedly to replace the director of the Vaslui DSVSA with an individual approved by Bogos. This move was allegedly intended to secure a compensation file worth approximately 3 million euros and to reduce or halt sanitary-veterinary inspections at Bogos's poultry farms.

Trăilă has denied all allegations, describing the situation as an “artificial” media scandal designed to damage the image of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, the Government, and the PNL party. She stated her innocence and expressed confidence that the investigation would clear her name. Bogos himself faces charges including continuous instigation to blackmail and continuous purchase of influence.
