Càritas Diocesana de Lleida assists 190 vulnerable people

Càritas Diocesana de Lleida has assisted approximately 190 people in vulnerable situations through its agricultural campaign centers in Alcarràs, Vilanova de la Barca, Torrelameu, and Corbins. Most users assisted originate from Senegal, Ghana, and Guinea.

This figure represents an increase from 225 people assisted in 2025 and 150 in 2024. The organization operates through the Program for Temporary People and Residential Exclusion, providing essential services such as housing searches, food and hygiene product distribution, basic healthcare, and emotional support to individuals seeking work during the agricultural season who are living in substandard housing.

Núria Gil, the Government Delegate in Lleida, visited the Torrelameu center to observe these social tasks firsthand. The program aims to provide integral care to ensure a dignified and safe reception for those residing in precarious conditions.
